I first became very interested in hypnotherapy around 25 years ago, as I was a heavy smoker (20-30 daily) and had tried everything; unsuccessfully, to ‘kick’ the habit. All those years ago, hypnotherapy was hardly heard of, but I was always intrigued by the concept and so decided to try it as a last resort. I was so pleased to find myself leaving the hypnotherapy session feeling like a true non-smoker. Consequently, with a little determination from that day onwards, I never touched a cigarette again.

 

As I have always immersed myself in topics that interest me, I proceeded to enjoy studying a wide range of academic and therapeutic subjects over the years. Combined with my voluntary work for Family Focus (working with children and families who experienced practical and emotional difficulties), I feel I have gained not only the experiences but supportive, communicative skills too.

 

Clinical hypnotherapy has helped me and countless others to make really significant life changes that have had tremendous, positive impacts. As we all know too well; life isn't always easy and anything that helps us de-stress or alter negative states/thoughts can only enhance our lives.

 

Due to the continual evidence that proves the benefits of hypnotherapy, I decided to study and successfully qualify as a clinical hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner.

 

This is now not only my immense, personal interest, but my opportunity to enable others to be able to access this safe and natural therapy, so that they can progress and move on with their lives.

My Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy is validated by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council. This council assesses the training of all its members, in order to ensure professional standards and regulations are met at all times.

 

I am also listed on the General Hypnotherapy Register; which is currently the largest, professional, registering organisation for practising, clinical hypnotherapists in the UK. This is where you can check whether a hypnotherapist is registered and is appropriately qualified; having undertaken all the necessary training to understand the theory and practice of hypnotherapy.

 

I am a certified hypnotherapy smoking cessation and weight loss specialist and I am also trained and qualified in Counselling Skills. Being a further education specialist lecturer; I hold a current Certificate of Enhanced CRB Disclosure. I have professional insurance with Balens Ltd.

 

Because I am determined to provide the optimum service to my clients, I endeavour to continue with my personal, professional development in order to enhance my knowledge. This means that I regularly embark on further, professional training, so that I can ensure that I am providing a vast range of the latest, highest quality therapies/techniques at all times.

 

Further qualifications: CBT : Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. REBT : Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapist. NLP Practitioner and NLP Life Coach (Neuro Linguistic Programming). Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR).

 

I provide friendly, flexible and person centred therapy, often incorporating a mixture of therapies wherever deemed appropriate. This approach invariably enhances treatment, enabling the speediest of recovery methods possible.

 

I regularly attend clinical supervision with a highly qualified, clinical, hypnotherapy, master practitioner. This ensures that I am practicing within the strict guidelines of The General Hypnotherapy Standards Council at all times.
